While participating in the Cementa24 Artist Residency in June 2023, artists Kathryn Cowen and Gareth Jenkins presented a youth workshop at the WAYOUT ArtSpace in Kandos, NSW.
Using a variety of found objects, various craft materials and fluorescent paint, students constructed biomorphic organisms within specimen jars that were lit with ultraviolet light in order to create a speculative and otherworldly ecology.
To inspire the students, Kathryn and Gareth assembled an impromptu sound, ultraviolet light and biomorphic sculpture installation under the stage at the rear of the WAYOUT ArtSpace.
