PROCESS.ED, Articulate Project Space, 1-23 February 2025

‘As Full as a Mountain’, 2025 is a collaborative audiovisual artwork by Kathryn Cowen and Gareth Jenkins.

The work is an amalgam of elements derived from the process of developing recent installation work.

Audio field recordings, poetic narration and an animated digital painting, deconstructed into its constituent layers, are combined with experimental AI animations of the same drawing, made while investigating how to bring movement to a drawn landscape and collaborate with the machine as a tool.

Process: processed; processing; processes

This exhibition invited a deeper exploration of art making, examining not only the final outcome but also the multifaceted nature of the creative process itself; uncovering the diverse ways artists engage with their materials, concepts, and constraints and embrace decision making, experimentation, failure, and serendipity as integral components of artistic creation.
